On October 6 and 7, 2023, 14 galleries and auction houses will jointly open their doors to the public as part of a gallery tour, showing art by renowned national and international artists in their spaces. The Rothenbaum district has always been known as an art and antiques district. In addition to the architecturally beautiful villas on the Alster, famous artists such as Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly and Joseph Beuys have exhibited here. Many renowned art galleries have a long tradition in this area.
On the evening of October 6, the Melbye-Konan Gallery (3) will celebrate the opening of the solo exhibition "Masquage/ Masking" on 400 m2 in the presence of the internationally acclaimed artist Ngoye.
Coincidentally, the date coincides with the anniversary of Andy Warhol's first exhibition in Germany, organized by Gunter Sachs - on Milchstrasse, right in the middle of the neighborhood. The now legendary exhibition opened on October 6, 1972.
Visitors can also look forward to great art by emerging and established artists at the gallery tour on October 6, 2023.
