The European Football Championships have just finished in Germany and the Olympic Games are just around the corner in Paris. Reason enough for gallery owner Stella Melbye-Konan to celebrate the summer of sport at home. The group exhibition 'Mouvement' has been organised in cooperation with the Institut Français and the French Consulate General in Hamburg. It features abstract and figurative works that explore movement through colour, internal processes and social or political influences. The German and French speaking artists François Martinache, Yannick Ackah, Atowla, Stella Meris, Karolin Schwab and Belé represent the friendship between the two countries; they share the 400 square metres of exhibition space like brothers and sisters and create a perfect summer show. vfe
